Looking for Volunteers

What is the Brigade?

The St. John Ambulance Brigade is an effective group of volunteers trained to provide first aid treatment at public events. Brigade members are the link between the occurrence of injury or illness and the arrival of professional medical assistance.

Are you interested in joining the Brigade?

As a trained Medical First Responder, you will provide first aid service at various public, private, and community events. In addition to your training as an MFR, joining the Brigade creates opportunities to increase proficiency in patient care, and to further develop leadership and communication skills.

What Qualifications Do You Need?

All that is required to join the Brigade is to hold a current, Standard First Aid and Level C CPR certificate, and a genuine interest to serve your community. St. John Ambulance will provide extensive training that will qualify you as an independent patient care provider and keep your skills current.

How Much Time Do You Need To Give?

Brigade members are expected to contribute 3 to 4 hours per week - a minimum of 100 hours per year. Some Brigade volunteers tend to contribute many more hours every year because it is enjoyable and rewarding.
